Sarah grew up in the United States and earned a BA from Wellesley College (Massachusetts, USA) before moving to Europe to pursue graduate studies in art history, cultural history, and various Eurasian languages. She received an MA from the University of Vienna in 2014 and was employed there as a predoctoral teaching assistant in art history from 2015 to 2021; she hopes one day to complete her dissertation.

Sarah first encountered the world of Tibetan Studies in 2010, when she began working as the project coordinator for the Vienna-based National Research Network “Cultural History of the Western Himalaya from the 8th Century”, supported by the Austrian Science Fund. In this capacity she gained insights into active interdisciplinary research projects and editorial experience as well as an understanding of how to successfully brand and publicize academic projects for various audiences, from the scholarly community to the public at large. She has also worked as a scientific project member of the Digital Research Archive for Byzantium and assisted with content management for the website of the Kalpa Bön Project.

For PaganTibet, she will put her experience to use, editing all project publications, implementing graphic design, and managing communications, including the project’s website, social media, and other dissemination opportunities.
